Day Five
Set aside 15 minutes on your calendar to sit with a few questions. You’ll want this time to be distraction-free, so plan on turning your phone off and being unavailable.
DAILY REFLECTION
Let’s start by
BREATHING
Take three deep breaths to settle your soul.
When you are ready,
INVITE GOD INTO THIS MOMENT.
Ask God to eliminate the noise and to speak to your body, mind and soul.
SLOWLY READ
Psalm 92:1-5 MSG
A SABBATH SONG
What a beautiful thing, GOD, to give thanks,
to sing an anthem to you, the High God!
To announce your love each daybreak,
sing your faithful presence all through the night,
Accompanied by dulcimer and harp,
the full-bodied music of strings.
You made me so happy, GOD.
I saw your work and I shouted for joy.
How magnificent your work, GOD!
How profound your thoughts!
ASK GOD A FEW QUESTIONS
If I had a day of unhurried time with you God, what would we do together?
What is my favorite way to worship you Lord?
LISTEN
Embrace the silence and fight the urge to speak. Be in the presence of God and listen for his voice.
WRITE IT DOWN
Grab your journal and write down your thoughts and anything God may be speaking to you.
DAILY ACTION
When we stop to rest, we delight our souls and the overflow of our heart will naturally worship God. Think about how you would connect deeply with God if you had unhurried time with Him. Would you spend extra time in His word? Would you take a prayer walk? Would you turn on some worship music and sit in His presence? Make a plan to invite God into your Sabbath by being intentional about how you will worship Him.
