Day One

Today, the entire goal is to simply try to settle. Spiritual practices take practice. Take the pressure off and embrace the idea of something new.

BEFORE YOU BEGIN…

Grab your phone and put it in airplane mode.

Now, get in a comfortable posture.

SET A TIMER FOR 10 MINUTES

SLOWLY READ

Philippians 4:6-7 (The Message)

“Don't fret or worry. Instead of worrying, pray. Let petitions and praises shape your worries into prayers, letting God know your concerns. Before you know it, a sense of God's wholeness, everything coming together for good, will come and settle you down. It's wonderful what happens when Christ displaces worry at the center of your life.”

NOW, LET’S BREATHE

Close your eyes and take five deep breaths.

Breath in through your nose, hold it for 4 seconds, and exhale slowly through your mouth. Don’t rush, patiently breathe.

INVITE GOD INTO THIS MOMENT.

Ask God to eliminate the noise and to speak to you.

When you are ready, invite God into this moment with a simple prayer like this:

“God, I’m here. I release every worry I have to you. I will wait patiently for you God”

SIT IN THE PRESENCE OF GOD

Don’t rush. Keep breathing.

Notice what is happening to your mind.

Notice what your body feels like.

TIMES UP

When the timer goes off, share with God one thing you are grateful for at this moment.

Finally, grab your journal and write down a few sentences about what it felt like to settle.
