Day Six

Set aside 15 minutes on your calendar to sit with a few questions. You’ll want this time to be distraction-free, so plan on turning your phone off and being unavailable.

DAILY REFLECTION

Let’s start by

BREATHING

Take three deep breaths to settle your soul.

When you are ready,

INVITE GOD INTO THIS MOMENT.

Ask God to eliminate the noise and to speak to your body, mind and soul.

SLOWLY READ

Matthew 16:24-26 NLT

Then Jesus said to his disciples, “If any of you wants to be my follower, you must give up your own way, take up your cross, and follow me. If you try to hang on to your life, you will lose it. But if you give up your life for my sake, you will save it. And what do you benefit if you gain the whole world but lose your own soul? Is anything worth more than your soul?”

Eph 5:15 ESV

Look carefully then how you walk, not as unwise but as wise, making the best use of the time, because the days are evil.

ASK GOD A FEW QUESTIONS

When you shut your phone off yesterday, what was different about your ability to be present?

Where do you need to create margin in your life?

What is God saying to you about your schedule?

LISTEN

Embrace the silence and fight the urge to speak. Be in the presence of God and listen for his voice.

WRITE IT DOWN

Grab your journal and write down your thoughts and anything God may be speaking to you.

DAILY ACTIONS

Action #1 Set a reminder on your phone to take another five minute pause somewhere in your day.

(Don’t forget, when you engage in your pause, simply close your eyes, breathe, and pay attention to your body as you slow down. Then, thank God for one thing in your life.)

Action #2 Go into your calendar and ask God to show you one thing you need to remove from your schedule. Now, delete it.
