Day Four

Set aside 15 minutes on your calendar to sit with a few questions. You’ll want this time to be distraction-free, so plan on turning your phone off and being unavailable.

DAILY REFLECTION

Let’s start by

BREATHING

Take three deep breaths to settle your soul.

When you are ready,

INVITE GOD INTO THIS MOMENT.

Ask God to eliminate the noise and to speak to your body, mind and soul.

SLOWLY READ

Matthew 22:37-40 NIV

Jesus replied: ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.’

ASK GOD A FEW QUESTIONS

What emotion(s) came to the surface as you were in the car yesterday?

What does the condition of your soul look like today?

What is God prompting in your heart about how you love others?

LISTEN

Embrace the silence and fight the urge to speak. Be in the presence of God and listen for his voice.

WRITE IT DOWN

Grab your journal and write down your thoughts and anything God may be speaking to you.

DAILY ACTIONS

Action #1 Set a reminder on your phone to take another five minute pause somewhere in your day.

(Don’t forget, when you engage in your pause, simply close your eyes, breathe, and pay attention to your body as you slow down. Then, thank God for one thing in your life.)

Action #2 After dinner, take a walk around the block without your cell phone or smart watch. Feel free to invite your family with you. Remember - no technology.
