Jimmy’s Story

“Before One Year for Men I was exhausted…desperate for relief. I work in ministry vocationally and I had been in about a 2 year cycle of getting little rest. Week in and week out, I was telling people about spending time with Jesus and resting in His presence, but I was not experiencing this in my life. I felt like such a hypocrite. I thought I would not last much longer in ministry.

Because of my experience with Jesus at One Year for Men I have a proper and prioritized perspective on life. First and foremost, if I am not listening for the voice of Jesus, I can recognize that now, and I can pause my life and listen. The rhythm of asking and listening for the voice of my King was fully realized at that first One Year for Men, and my life has not been the same since. I used to believe that I did not have time to slow down; I’ve now realized that I don’t have time to not slow down. This was a rhythm I desperately needed to find, and it changed my life!”
